History Lesson At #FEPE
Greg Grimmer from HMDG – UK opened his presentation ‘Out with the old and in with the new’ with a quote from Edmund Burke – ‘Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it” and added “we are an industry full of research, we must not ignore it.’
Grimmer was focusing on how to use the digital medium to reach customers through OOH and drive future digital behaviour and achieve positive results for the brands that are using this medium.The presentation that followed was very much related to this teaching, but it warned that learning from our history should also mean responsibility and self regulation.
Oliver Gray, regulatory body EASA from Belgium reminded the audience that to ensuring a future license to operate, the industry needs to learn how to effectively self-regulate. “The industry rules are written by you: ads need to be legal, decent, honest and truthful,” he said.
