18 months after Sony’s acquisition of Convergent Media from Thomson it seems that Sony is ready to setup Convergent Media Europe and a similar business unit in Japan.

Whilst predominantly for Digital Cinema there is a lot of stadium and some retail business in their mix as well. Rumour is that Brad McGill, ex 3M is likely to head the European startup (perhaps the mighty Mike Fabian was otherwise engaged).
