At #InfoComm11 we stopped off to hear about Insight Media University, run by Jonathan Brawn of Brawn Consulting and Chris Chinnock of Insight Media.
It’s not a true ‘university’ of course, however the company runs both online and on-site courses on digital signage, display technology, 3D, installation, IT networking and a myriad of other topics of interest to various sectors of the industry.It is trying to get its course material certified and actually has, to date, had that happen for one course. Certification would come via the CDF, the Digital Signage Experts Group (another Brawn company) and InfoComm.
The company currently offers 16 different online courses but can also give courses at live shows or within companies. And, says, Brawn, it can also develop courses geared to a company’s specific requirements.
“We’re building training programs for the industry,” says Brawn.
An example of a course is an online course on becoming an autostereoscopic digital signage expert, basic level. It involves six hours of courses and four tests.
