Peter Maag Explains Lou Leaving
Gail Chiasson, North American Editor
We spoke to Peter Maag, executive vice-president of Haivision, about Lou Giacalone leaving Haivision last week, that we reported on exclusively this week.
“Lou’s an amazing guy but now that the integration of CoolSign is complete, and the teams are all solid and set, he decided that he was interested in new challenges,” said Maag. “He made the integration of CoolSign go smoothly, but now it’s complete.”
Maag told us that integrators and customers have become very interested in the company now that Coolsign is part of Haivision.
“On the first day of InfoComm, we had more leads in that one day than we’ve ever had at any other show,” he said.
Haivision has moving in two directions: “We’re making great strides in the A/V channel, and we’re beginning to offer turnkey solutions in digital signage.
“We’ve recent bought Kulabyte, an Internet streaming company. And we’ve been a profitable company for the last 14 or 15 quarters, working on large, diversified projects. We’re technically complex but an overwhelming success.
“CoolSign’s technology fits in so well with everything we do.”
But, we wonder, wasn’t that the case for Giacalone?
