One of the top grossing live concert acts of the past decade, the Dave Matthews Band (DMB), has teamed up with out-of-home television network Akoo, which is promoting the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, a multi-day, multi-artist festival that features the DMB’s final live performances for 2011.
In addition to airing exclusive DMB content across its U.S. network, Akoo is sending a group of lucky viewers on all-expenses-paid trips to see the festival’s last stops at Governor’s Island in New York on August 26-28 and at the Gorge in George, Washington, on September 2-4. Winners receive VIP ticket packages, round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and transportation.
Visitors to ‘Akoo Pavilions’ – the food court seating areas in 161 malls where the television network features its entertainment programming – have been entering to win by texting DMB to 33123 or visiting Akoo’s Facebook page. Akoo’s busy Facebook page, which features multiple promotions, has already been ‘liked’ by more than 230,000 people to date. In addition to the DMB giveaways on its network and Facebook, Akoo will also award an additional all-expenses-paid trip to the final George, Washington, festival during the Governor’s Island New York performance on August 26-28.
Both festival dates will feature an on-site Akoo Pavilion for fans. The network will also provide its programming throughout the VIP and artist areas.
