Never ever good news when we hear rumours of layoffs but there’s little point in hiding one’s head in the sand by ignoring them (the rumours or the layoffs that is).

We heard over the weekend from a number of sources that Panasonic Point Of Sales division has laid off 39 people in the UK.

This is probably not that surprising because back on 2nd November Panasonic announced a loss of USD 5.4 billion and said that it was likely to lay off 17,000 people worldwide.
