The AV industry is pregnant with anticipation ahead of next week’s mass migration to Amsterdam for #ISE2012 and no doubt like us, you may have been asking yourself “just what can I expect when I get there?”
To that end we asked a couple of well known industry experts what they were expecting…
Greg Jeffreys, founder director of Paradigm AV, an industry veteran who is also President-Elect of InfoComm International shared his thoughts with us earlier this week”From an InfoComm perspective I’m looking forward to spending a week in an atmosphere of intensive positivity. Despite the scare stories of the Eurozone, it’s so good to participate in an event with such an aura of success and that is looking to the future”“I’m looking forward to teaching my course on the new InfoComm/ANSI Standard on projected image contrast ratio (PISCR to its friends). As my background with InfoComm is very much from education and Standards I’m just delighted to see how the education sessions have grown even further this year at the show. In a busy life, these chances to meet rarely-seen industry friends and colleagues that ISE provides is often my happiest retained memory from the show.
“From a Paradigm perspective,” adds Greg “we’re taking a new approach this year, focusing on a completely new business area that also overlaps with our new division and subsidiary, Simulation Displays Ltd. You and Adrian have already given this marvellous coverage – thank you. We’ll have a new face on the booth: Henry van der Helm, Simulation Displays’ brand new Business Development Manager. As an internationally acknowledged expert in high level projection and warping, blending multi-projector applications he will be a major asset in our strategically significant partnership with Scalable Display Technologies.”
Jason Cremins, signagelive CEO says, “We’re expecting to see at ISE 2012 what we have started to see more and more over the last several months: an increasing number of resellers and integrators that are interested in moving away from walled-garden, to cloud-based digital signage solutions. We will be showing a full range of compatible technology powered by signagelive, while highlighting our core value proposition; free support, free software updates, robust infrastructure, high margins and a partnership approach to our channel.”
“I’m also excited that we are trying something new this year, namely a five wide by one high strip of LG Direct LED Super Narrow Bezel 47WV30 Displays at the front of our booth. We are running this one signagelive player per screen with content from mooKuh Design“
Dirk Hülsermann, OVAB Europe’s President and recent ISE advisory board member is looking forward to his second ISE as Manager of VUKUNET DOOH Solutions at NEC Display Solutions Europe as he was appointed pretty much this time last year – 1st January 2011 to be precise, EdFor NEC, 2012 is the year of NEC’s 10th anniversary in Public Displays and Dirk’s boss Stefanie Corinth, Vice President Marketing and Business Development EMEA, NEC Display Solutions Europe will, on Tuesday unveil NEC’s strategy, plans, directions and technology developments for the year ahead.
NEC also see 2012 as the year of digital out-of-home and Dirk tells us that he will be busy at the show, explaining more to people about the EMEA launch of VUKUNET, which is planned for April 2012.
As head of the industry association OVAB in Europe as well of course he will be tremendously busy networking and shaking hands and he told us “I’m expecting to see a number of new innovations which will help the digital signage industry grow much quicker than it has done over the past three years”
