SoftKinetic’s Deal With Intel

We wrote only a few weeks ago ‘Are Intel Set To Acquire SoftKinetic?‘ and lo’ and behold we had an announcement from the pair of them this past week.

Ok, so it’s not an acquisition just yet BUT we wouldn’t be surprised if Intel had put some money in (their VC folks often put dollars in and then track said ‘small’ investments).

What SoftKinetic announced was a digital signage solution that combines Intel’s anonymous viewer analytics technology WITH SoftKinetic’s DepthSense™ 3D camera and iisu™ 3D gesture recognition middleware.

Eric Krzeslo, chief innovation officer at SoftKinetic told us “SoftKinetic’s vision is to transform the way people interact with technology and through the use of our 3D camera solution, we can provide a much more fun, engaging and memorable brand engagement,”

He added “By adding Intel® AIM Suite, we are not only providing a more enjoyable experience, but also providing crucial data for the advertisers and the ability to track return on investment with greater accuracy.”

Read what we said in the January post and you will see how pretty much spot-on we were with our initial analysis.
