What’s Russian for “Cabtivate” ?

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

I bumped into the Chairman of the board of these Russian folks in London yesterday – iMTV is one of the four subsidiaries of FormTrust Holding.

They were having a meeting with Mark Greenhalgh, formerly of course the founder of Cabtivate and now in charge at Tapinto – the business setup to sell the technology and business know-how of the former failed digital screen taxi advertising business.

Tapinto are due to make an announcement about “availability world-wide” at Screen Expo 2008 (as below) although I think we might now know who their partner is.

Tapinto Ltd., the company behind a bespoke in-car touch screen directory system is using the show to announce its availability worldwide after being pioneered in private hire cars in Edinburgh. Private hire cars are fitted with a special headrest comprising an 8” touch screen displaying news, weather and sports updates, advertising opportunities and public information for residents and visitors to any city. Its unique, interactive directory system allows passengers to navigate through a range of categories and download information such as tourist maps or special offers for pubs, clubs and restaurants via Bluetooth onto their mobile phone.
