Encoders from Visionary Solutions Inc., Santa Barbara, California, will be at #dse2012 next week.

The use of VSI encoders by technology companies like Daktronics, Enseo, and Four Winds Interactive, is demonstrative of the interoperability, scope, and relevance of VSI’s technology within the digital signage space, says the company management.

  • Daktronics, supplier of large screen video displays, electronic scoreboards, computer-programmable displays, digital billboards, and control systems includes VSI encoders as part of the company’s digital signage control solution that offers users a powerful merger of control software, data integration, playback hardware, and image processing technology to form a single, comprehensive production solution.
  • VSI’s partner Enseo provides an IPTV application that leverages VSI encoding technology. Encoders from VSI, coupled with Enseo digital media players, efficiently distribute and contribute content as part of a digital signage ecosystem to reduce equipment costs and increase scalability.
  • Four Winds Interactive makes use of VSI’s encoder technology to complement its digital signage technology in order to increase distribution options.
  • And VSI’s technology also works with digital signage solutions from X2O Media, a full-service provider of software, network management, and content services for real-time visual communication applications, to help integrators leverage the scalability of IPTV technologies for content acquisition and distribution.

VSI’s encoders enable encoding of high-definition video via an HDMI/DVI-D or SDI input, and are suitable for almost all applications requiring cost-effective, low-bit-rate video distribution over IP networks. The base model includes 480i SD encoding with closed captioning support. Optional modules enable forward error correction and support for all image resolutions.

VSI encoders also feature a modular firmware architecture that enables the customization of the encoders, providing greater flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Users can purchase only those features they need while enjoying the flexibility to easily upgrade in the future as requirements change.
