With a terse no comment from PRN and no confirmation on who exactly was let go in the recent round of bloodletting rumours will undoubtedly continue (as they have).
Surely it’s much better for senior management to nip this in the bud and just make a proper announcement because the latest from North America is that said bloodletting is actually set to continue.
The current rumour is that in the coming months, PRN is all set to completely dump their technical development and support teams.
Whilst there doesn’t seem to be any formal RFP out in the marketplace we understand that PRN has reached out to a number of industry vendors to see who could best offer them some form of white label / full turnkey solution.
So bottom line it sounds like PRN’s refocus as a media company is truly underway but the jury is still out on whether this is a sensible move for them.
Whilst we are the biggest advocates of “why build when you can buy, why buy when you can rent” in the short term this will undoubtedly help PRN cut costs big time but longer term, will they be fully in control of their own destiny?
