Looking at all of the exhibitors lined up for #ScreenmediaExpo, which is literally weeks away now, and all the pre-show publicity blasts we receive, one thing seems certain – there is far too much ‘stand-sharing’ going on!
Exactly how brands expect to get their message across by sharing booth space with others is beyond me and is no doubt one of the attendant problems with our industry. Scala dilute their brand rather than enhance it by sharing with the likes of Sharp Electronics, HP, Christie†, Mdina Media, U-Touch, mediaVue, Step4Media and Westbase (and those brands in turn can alienate other software vendors whether they be ‘partners’ or not!).
Anyway, no doubt their stand will be top-notch as it has been at #ISE2012 in Amsterdam and #dse2012 in Lost Wages. The one thing we would tell people to go look out for especially on their stand is the Scala Fling Solution – as they say “Share content from your tablet to any screen with a flick of your finger!”
†To be fair Christie will have Microtiles on at least three other stands but we still think they would be better off with their own presence
