First-of-a-Kind Nonsense From @PlanarSystems
Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief
‘First of a kind’ says Planar Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLNR) as the global leader in digital display technology unveils a digital display box that incorporates a transparent display.
Umm, really? Wasn’t this, and we quote “first-of-its-kind merchandising and exhibition solution” shown by STRATACACHE some two years ago?The 32-inch Planar® LookThru™ Display Box is an enclosed showcase fronted by a clear glass surface that can display multimedia content in front of products placed inside the unit. Umm (again), that sounds really familiar!
“Planar’s LookThru technology is the ultimate combination of digital and physical marketing and exhibition,” said Jennifer Davis, vice president of marketing for Planar Systems. “Messaging can be seamlessly integrated with the actual product, creating a whole new way to engage consumers and promote products and memorabilia in a wide variety of settings, such as the growing markets of retail, museums, sports arenas and corporate lobbies. From retail merchandising to trophy cases, from trade shows to museum exhibits, the opportunities to use the Planar LookThru are diverse and compelling.”
It’s nonsense and much worse it’s a traded company NASDAQ nonsense. Shareholders ought to be up in arms at how poor this release, the claims and the positioning are.

When referencing something from the past (as in a product announcement from Stratacache) it would be nice if you could provide a link for that exact product offering. Everything I see on Stratacache’s PrimaSee arena looks to be solid pieces of glass or custom units, not an all enclosed device such as the one that Planar is offering. Could you please point to a specific “boxed” sale unit that Stratecache is offering at this point for comparison, Adrian?
