Sony’s Convergent In Deal With Everbrite

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Convergent Media Systems Corporation, a Sony company since early 2010, announced this week a strategic relationship with Everbrite, LLC in order to provide a full suite of digital signage offerings to key markets, particularly quick service restaurants (QSR).

This relationship supposedly leverages Convergent’s expertise as an integrator of enterprise grade digital signage and Everbrite’s long-standing presence in the sign and imagery industries.

The press release explains that the QSR market will be experiencing a fundamental change when Federal (US) guidelines require restaurants to display nutritional information to consumers – Everbrite’s new digital menu board solution allows for the instantaneous change of calorie and nutritional information as well as for the display of dynamic creative content (same as everyone else mind), delivered right at the point of purchase.

Convergent and Everbrite have already joined forces to provide digital signage pilot programs to several of Everbrite’s QSR customers with more expected throughout its multi-industry customer base.

Bryan Allen, President of Convergent Media Systems told us “This relationship allows both Everbrite and Convergent to compete more strategically across a number of key growth markets. Together we have valuable insight into the QSR market and other industries, long standing relationships and a technology platform that has been designed specifically for the needs of this market. In return, Everbrite will have a full suite of digital offerings to add to their already impressive lineup of products,”

As a result of the relationship, in addition to its already wide range of signage and imagery products and services, Everbrite now provides its clients a turn-key digital menu board solution that includes hardware, software and a suite of support services including content management, distribution, technical support and 24×7 remote monitoring from Convergent’s state-of-the-art Network Operations Center.
