Montreal-based Metromedia Plus, specialized since 1993 in transit advertising across Canada, has officially become Cogeco Metromedia.
We’ve learned that the company was quietly bought by multimedia company Cogeco in December and the merger is now official with the change of the corporate identity. We are looking forward to getting more information about the purchase, but we understand that the company will pursue its regular activities under its new name.«
Claude Lamoureux, vice-president and general manager of Cogeco Métromédia, says, “Since 1993, Métromédia has acquired growing expertise relative to the advertising display industry and has earned an excellent reputation with great creativity in the advertising field. The integration with COGECO Diffusion will provide Métromédia with the opportunity to pursue its progress and diversification offers while benefiting from the strength and stability of the COGECO group.”
”All of the entities belonging to COGECO Diffusion are now joined and placed under one identity,” Richard Lachance, first Vice-president of COGECO Diffusion. “This association is most promising and will provide advertisers with greater variety, specifically tailored to their advertising needs.”
Cogeco Métromédia is specialized in the advertising display industry. The company is present in all of the major public transit markets in Quebec, particularly in the larger regions of Montreal and Quebec, as well as in 115 other markets throughout the country. With approximately one hundred employees, close to 20 standard and digital advertising products, and with more than 30,000 display surfaces, COGECO Métromédia has the goal of becoming one of the most important rep houses in the advertising display industry in Canada.
