What Are London High End Retailers Deploying?

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Any visitor to London in the next few weeks would be well advised to go take a look at the new Burberry Store and the L’Oreal concession in House of Fraser.

We didn’t have enough time to stop and take decent enough pictures on our visit to London earlier this week but the Burberry Store (well documented by InAVate and others) showcases not only Prysm’s LPD in a giant wall but (if we are counting correctly) several hundred Christie MicroTiles in a nice install (complete with mirrors) also.

The news agency Reuters have a really good (video) story entitled ‘Burberry’s flagship store mirrors online world‘, we quote “Just days after issuing a profit warning that sent its shares spiralling, the luxury British fashion company Burberry officially unveils its largest ever retail store in the heart of London. Reuters Technology Correspondent Matt Cowan speaks to the brand’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey about the vision for the store, which blends cutting edge technology with tradional craftsmanship”.

Do view the video which can be found online here.

The L’Oreal install, which we suspect is by Pixel Inspiration, in House of Fraser is another very nice MicroTiles deployment (we are heading back for pictures next week).

All proving, we think, that high end retail seems to understand that luxury brands need high end display systems and (those brands) are not afraid to pay good money for the privilege.
