Mobile Marketing Association Names New President

Mike Wehrs has been named president and CEO of the Mobile Marketing Association, where he is responsible for continuing to promote the MMA’s charter to build a sustainable ecosystem for the mobile marketing industry globally, focusing on delivering benefits to MMA members, establishing guidelines and best practices for future growth, and driving mobile adoption worldwide.
Wehrs has a range of industry association experience, having served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees for such organizations, as CTIA – The Wireless Association, Open Mobile Alliance, Bluetooth Special Interest Group and dotMobi Advisory Group, and others.
He was recently vice-president of industry affairs and evangelism at Nuance Communications Inc., Burlington, Mass., and earlier held senior roles at Tegic Communications and Microsoft Corporation.
The MMA’s more than 700 member companies, representing over 40 countries around the globe, include all members of the mobile media ecosystem. With global headquarters in New York, the MMA has regional chapters including North America, Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Africa, and Asia Pacific branches.
