Led by Valhalla Partners, with participation from Mercury Fund and Ben Franklin Technology Partners startup, Vistar Media has raised $1.5 million in seed funding.
They are another startup who figure that they can change the digital out-of-home advertising market and claim that their place-based media ad serving technology provides the industry’s first programmatic platform.
As usual, we quote “Media buyers and place-based networks can now seamlessly transact across guaranteed and non-guaranteed inventory. With the power of real-time reporting and data driven audience targeting, place-based media can enter the world of digital media”.
Their web site describes themselves as ‘The Place-Based Ad Platform’ and ‘Real-time access to the 4th screen’ as well as ‘Putting the digital in digital out-of-home’.
Two of Vistar Media’s founders; Michael Provenzano and Mark Chadwick were both part of Invite Media, the DSP startup acquired by Google back in 2010.
We understand that Vistar has already built the platform and worked out the inventory but the company is now looking to get sales people on board to sell the platform to advertisers.
That of course is the hard bit as the likes of SeeSaw, BookingDOOH and many, many others now out of business will testify to.
The DailyDOOH Investor Conference is being held in New York 23rd to 24th October 2013.
