Shoppers Drug Mart Spectacular
As Digital Signage continues to cross into the mainstream, retailers of all stripes continue to embrace the medium for both in-store communication and architectural applications.
Canadian wellness chain Shoppers Drug Mart, is the latest retailer to show digital as part of their future store design and retailing strategy.
- Large screen in the facade and large fixture inside the store plays a mix of promotional and branding content.
- Ribbons of Christie Microtiles playing ambient content are framing the fixtures.
- A few of these Static + Digital combinations are sprinkled throughout the store.
- Endcaps feature large displays in portrait mode playing appealing product-oriented content.
- Screen behind the service counter. Note the neatly integrated the web-cam for audience analytics.
- Make-over stations decorated with digital displays and sport an enclosed kiosks for product information.
Pictured above, Shoppers’ award-winning “Beauty Boutique” store-in-store design was envisioned by Montreal-based Tuxedo and executed by GridCast Media.
In a great example of architectural application of Christie Microtiles, combination of static and digital signage (with 42″ displays embedded into large-format graphic posters), and use of audience measurement technology, this pilot roll-out hits all the right notes. Additional tablet-sized kiosk islands and sales aides are planned for the near future according to Tuxedo.
