An Unplugged @JCDecaux_UK Tim Harvey
We know that every one of the speakers at next month’s Thought Leadership Summit in New York will be outstanding, but we know that a lot of the North American billboard operators – half a dozen have already registered, Ed are really looking forward to hear Tim Harvey, who, with his position as director of digital strategy at JCDecaux UK, has to really be au courant with developments in his field.
Harvey’s long-titled speech is Waterloo Sunset, Sunrise and A New Dawn in Display Quality, but what it means is that he will be showing the audience preview footage of the 40m Waterloo Motion screen in action and then working the rest of the presentation around the old DOOH saying ‘Any digital media network is as weak or as strong as the content displayed and as good or as bad as the collective support that keeps the network running’.
“This gives me the chance to split the presentation into two areas: a) to showcase the work of the unsung heroes of the UK JCDecaux team by describing how a quality installation is put together in terms of display hardware and infrastructure; and b) to give an overview of how JCDecaux UK has addressed the challenge of making a 14:1 display screen accessible to content providers,” says Harvey.
“I’m hoping the audience can go away with some good reasons to encourage their own clients and partners to invest that little bit more in content and technology infrastructure so that we can all take the industry forward on a firm foundation of display quality and impeccably timed delivery.”
Tim was voted best presenter (by the audience) at the last Thought Leadership Summit – Video Walls Unplugged held in London in May.
Billboards Unplugged runs 14:00 to 17:30 (with soft drinks and canapes after) at the Barco Demo Centre in New York as part of New York Digital Signage Week.
