Cliff Marks, president, National CineMedia, led off Wednesday’s speakers at The DailyDOOH Investor Conference, telling people that it’s a mad, mad mad media world, and that you have to have scale to make it as a digital out-of-home network.
NCM is the 8th largest network in America and claims spot of #1 on Friday and Saturday nights, Marks says that the biggest change in the business has taken place with the emergence of digital marketing.
Marks mentioned that there’s no specific cinema budget from advertisers, nor for digital out-of-home: everything comes from the marketing budget, so you have to fight for a share of it.
And, he emphasized, “There’s no replacement for scale.”
