Esprit Digital, best known for their screen networks at London Underground, London Heathrow and Westfield (in London), have just completed their first installation of digital escalator panels (DEPs) for the Vienna Metro (Vienna U-Bahn).
Using state-of-the-art cooling and air filtration technology, this 80+ 32” network will be sold by JCDecaux/Gewista.
You may remember that Tim Cartwright, head of digital for Exterion Media told us recently “It is still DEPs that remain the most famous and popular DOOH format for CBSO. DEPs were a game changer, not only for us, but for the whole OOH market” and recognising that DEPs have become a special part of the Underground experience he added, “It’s the format the everyone remembers, has an affinity to and is passionate about.”.
Peter Livesey, founder of Esprit Digital, told us: “Following the success of both London and Oslo escalator screen installations, we are delighted that Vienna has joined the party and fully expect other city metros around the world to add the format in the very near future.”
DEPs of course, contain all the ingredients of a successful DOOH format: dwell time, consumers in close proximity to the screens and a powerful digital canvass BUT it has been the opportunity to run sequential creative on the screens that has really excited creative agencies and advertisers the most.
