Mike DiFranza To Lead glanz.tv Advisory Board
glanz.tv, Washington, D.C.-based fast growing location-based digital out-of-home media companies, has formed a Scientific and Business Advisory Board, chaired by Mike DiFranza, CEO of Boston-based Otter Hill Advisors and former CEO of Captivate Network.
The Board is composed of distinguished industry and thought leaders from diverse disciplines, with the mission of bringing industry expertise in digital media, emerging advertising technologies and scientific research in personalization and visual marketing to the strategy and operations of glanz.tv.
glanz.tv has a network of large 55” to 70” portrait format digital displays strategically placed at premier real estate locations with the highest pedestrian foot traffic in the Washington, D.C., Metro Area.
“I’m a great believer in advisory boards,” says Imre Eszenyi, founder of glanz.tv, a Hungarian-born McLean, Virginia-based investor. “With the market changing so quickly and being a real believer in our own business model, an advisory board has tremendous value. I don’t like the idea of tying up people’s time with minute details on corporate governance. As a private investor, I like to be able to call on experts when you want or need them.”
DiFranza has not only been a pioneer of innovative advertising solutions, holding numerous patents on IP-enabled location-based advertising solutions, but he was also the founder, key architect and successful CEO of Captivate Network, purchased by Generation Partners last fall.
In his current role as CEO of Otter Hill Advisors, DiFranza is providing hands-on market focused executive consulting and advisory services with the objective to help other business owners and entrepreneurs improve performance of their businesses and avoid mistakes.
First member to join DiFranza on the glanz.tv Advisory Board is Dr. Michel Wedel, who holds the Pepsico Chair in Consumer Science and Marketing at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Wedel has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of marketing research, analytics and analysis for marketing decisions. His main research interests are in the personalization of marketing activities and improving visual marketing, including advertising, shelf, and web design.
He has published over 170 articles, and is the co-author of Ad Gist: Ad Communication in a Single Eye Fixation published in Marketing Science in 2012, which provides a critical foundation for his work for glanz.tv.
Wedel is highly ranked globally as a productive marketing scholar, has been awarded several lifetime awards, and is a fellow of several major professional organizations in marketing and statistics.
We understand that at least one more highly-recognized person is about to be named to the Advisory Board, considered by Eszenyi as essential to glanz.tv as it brings together professionals with expertise in key areas of its business focus and execution experience.
“As glanz.tv continues to grow, with the help of our Advisory Board, our comany will be better positioned to understand and leverage today’s dramatic development of consumer science, ad technologies, and changes in the advertising markets,” says Eszenyi.
DiFranza says, “glanz.tv is well positioned to build a significant business that is both sustainable and scalable. I believe the advertising and the investment community will embrace the unique business model it has developed. By year-end, glanz.tv will operate the largest digital out-of-home network in the Washington DMA.”
