No doubt the Tour de France organisers will note that their three days in the UK have been a resounding success with hundreds of thousands of people lining ALL of the routes along the three stages held here.
UK boutique media owner Ocean Outdoor realised early on that stage 3 of the tour (the last stage in the UK and the one held July 7, 2014 which headed into London for a finish along the Mall) would go right between their two digital billboards, the Two Towers East.
The TV Coverage only showed the two breakaway leaders (shown above), not the Peloton, actually going across the flyover.
However, Ocean kindly sent us these pics of their ‘GO TEAM SKY’ ad campaign which was cleverly placed on the billboards as the leaders AND (some 36 seconds later) the Peloton crossed the flyover (and of course as the billboards are doubled sided this worked for all spectators along the route before and after). Quite an amazing sight actually.
Clever and effective but then that’s DOOH for you!!
