Historic Small Town Bar Goes Big With @NanoLumens NanoSlim LED Display

September 26th, 2014

The Tannery Row Ale House, established in 1873 in Buford, Georgia, has installed a 224” 6mm NanoLumens NanoSlim LED Display in its large bar room to entertain guests.

unnamedTo prepare for football season, the Tannery Row Ale House decided to install the town’s biggest, brightest and clearest display for its guests to watch the game. To do so, it turned to NanoLumens, the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of indoor LED display solutions, to provide the 224” NanoSlim LED Display for the bar room.

“The Tannery Row Ale House is determined to host the best football sporting events in town,”
says Nathan Remmes, NanoLumens director of business development. “The LED NanoSlim Display guarantees them that opportunity; the display is bright and provides maximum range. Anyone at the back of the bar can view the screen with complete clarity. It’s the ideal display for this space.”

After touring the NanoLumens showroom, bar owners Shane Maxwell and Brian Campbell selected the NanoSlim LED Display. “This display is thin and lightweight, but expansive,” Maxwell said. “The bigger the screen, the better. We want all of our guests to enjoy watching the game at our bar.”

unnamed-1Measuring 17’ by 11’, the NanoSlim display sits at the center of the restaurant in an area that flexes into an outdoor space during the warmer seasons. It’s possible to maximize the display year round, whether viewers watch baseball outside or football inside.

Aside from sporting events, the Ale House rents out its large central space for meetings and conventions.

“When conventions take place, renters can use the LED Display to showcase whatever visuals they’d like,”
says Maxwell.

Getting There, @JCDecaux_UK at Old Street EC1

September 25th, 2014

Andrew Neale

It looks like good progress being made with another four new digital billboards from JCDecaux in London at Old Street, EC1. This is another conversion of a previously high profile static site, arranged on all four sides.

Old Street - JCDecaux construction

The structure sits above the middle of the busy Old Street roundabout, which is part of the inner ring road on the edge of the centre-of-town congestion charging zone. This means that any East-West traffic avoiding its charge during the day passes though here.

You can see an artist’s impression and a rather nice Lego model of what it will look like when completed here.

We understand that it is still due for completion in October.

New App Store From @FWiDigitalSigns

September 24th, 2014

Andrew Neale

Four Winds Interactive (FWI) this week announced a new software release that it says will dramatically improve how clients build, deploy and manage their enterprise visual communications networks

logo FWi 5.0The release is accompanied by a user-friendly ‘app store’ containing hundreds of images, videos, apps, templates, and much more that can be used to quickly design and populate visual displays—whether one screen at a time, or enterprise-wide.

The software release, dubbed 5.0, has been in development for more than a year and has been designed to make creating an enterprise visual communications network as easy as programming a smartphone with user preferences.

“Until now, really creative, impactful visual communication systems have been in the exclusive domain of companies with big marketing and design teams,” said David Levin, president and CEO of Four Winds Interactive. “We wanted to create a system that would empower every company to create a visual communications network that could match their biggest ideas with easy to use technology.”

FWI developed a number of proprietary tools and features to create their latest release, taking care to make each component as easy to use as possible. “Most people chartered with creating visual communications for a company have other responsibilities, so they don’t have time to learn a complex system. We were inspired by the way most of us find and use applications on our smartphones to build out a custom experience. That’s what we’ve created with Software 5.0 and the FWI Store,” added Levin.

FWI’s Software 5.0 has five main features:

  1. FWI Store The FWI Store contains pre-built templates, applications, content, and plug-ins on a subscription basis that can be used to quickly customize display designs with the most up-to-date and dynamic content. The FWI Store is conveniently accessible from the Content Manager platform.
  2. Sharable Applications FWI’s software now enables users to create, publish, and share custom applications, or leverage content from the FWI Store.
  3. Remote Web Management The Content Manager Web platform now lets users manage their network anytime, anywhere from any web-enabled device.
  4. Content Approval Workflow The newly added workflow functionality provides an integrated approval process for content. Automated email notifications are sent when new content is added and managers can view a real-time task list to see and approve requests waiting in their queue.
  5. Network Monitoring Network monitoring has been integrated into Content Manager Desktop, enabling clients to monitor the health and status of their network in real-time with customizable dashboards.

Software 5.0 and the FWI Store are available now.  Current clients can upgrade by contacting their FWI sales representative or visiting www.fourwindsinteractive.com.
