Sean Cheyney has joined Vistar Media as the company’s Head of Retail Media. In this newly created global role, he will lead Vistar’s retail media strategy, integrating the company’s industry-leading OOH solutions into the retail media ecosystem to enhance value for retailers, agency partners and brands.

Vistar wants to bridge the gap between digital retail media and the physical world. With most commerce happening in-store, DOOH offers a prime opportunity for retailers to engage customers and for brands to connect with consumers at every stage—whether they’re inside, around, or on their way to a store. We are told that Sean Cheyney’s new role will be pivotal in amplifying Vistar’s position in the retail ecosystem and driving its 2025 strategy, which focuses on global expansion and establishing Vistar as the top DOOH partner for retail media networks worldwide.

The Great Barrier Reef In #3DOOH Across Dual Screens

Garnier is making waves as the first brand to leverage oOh!media’s dual screens enabled with 3D full-motion for its latest campaign, transforming the Martin Place Retail precinct into the Great Barrier Reef.

Conceptualised and created by oOh!’s in-house creative team, POLY, the #3DOOH campaign brings the beauty and fragility of the reef’s coral ecosystem to life.

The coral starts in a bleached state and gradually transforms into vibrant colours, symbolising how Garnier’s partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and the beauty brand’s ‘Plant a Coral’ campaign is helping to restore one of Australia’s natural wonders.

Josh Gurgiel, head of POLY, told us “This is an exciting milestone for both Out of Home and the way 3D creative can be used across two screens to tell a brand story. Through collaboration with Garnier and media agency Wavemaker, our team’s creative expertise ensured a best-in-class execution by crafting 3D OOH visuals that effectively leverage depth, motion and synchronisation. We know from Analytic Partners data that the quality of creative executions delivers 41% of OOH ROI*, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

The two large-format screens work in harmony to create a seamless experience of a turtle swimming between each, highlighting the interconnectedness of marine life and the urgent need for coral conservation.

The #3DOOH campaign extends across Sydney Metro stations and Melbourne’s CBD rail network, including Flinders Street, Parliament, and Melbourne Central. Additionally, the campaign is running at key locations across oOh!’s digital street network.

The @DPAAGlobal Releases Industry Anthem

Music made a big apprearance not once but twice last week during #OOHNYC with Vertical Impression releasing a 10-track mixtape entitled ‘Out of Home and Into My Heart’ aimed at extolling the unique virtues of the oldest advertising medium in the world BEFORE the DPAA Video Everywhere Summit and now we have this DOOH OOH Video Everywhere ANTHEM produced and created by Terry Kawaja, Luma Bank which was ‘taped’ at the summit.

Of course, it’s pretty much a tradition these days that Barry Frey and his intrepid team at the DPAA continually help inform, educate and entertain the industry with new initiatives such as this.

As with their Broadway Shows on the global Summit Stage over the past few years this is another first.

Built around its ‘waveform’ logo and vibrant colour palette, the new brand identity aligns with the Group’s values while providing a clearer definition of its role as a global network of businesses providing local expertise.
