Iconic Brands Speak at @DPAAOrg Global Summit

DPAA, the global trade marketing association, driving the growth and digitization of out-of-home media and its growing role in the omnichannel mix, announced this week initial speakers for their October 10 DPAA Global Summit, which this year is entitled ‘Omnivideo’.

Early confirmed speakers include Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s and Cheryl Guerin, Exec. VP Global Brand Strategy & Innovation, Mastercard. This year’s Summit will also honor leading women in digital with the association’s first WE.DOOH Awards (DPAA’s Women’s Empowerment Series). The Awards will honor women at various career and life stages and will include recognitions in categories of Rising Star, Unsung Hero, and Industry Vanguard. The highly successful DOOH-E (Digital Out of Home Excellence) Awards will once again be presented at this year’s summit. The DOOH-E Awards are the industry’s only people’s choice awards program. Award categories will include Best Purpose Driven Campaign, Most Creative Campaign, and Best Use of Programmatic Tech Innovation.

DPAA will once again begin the week with the heralded Newsmaker & VIP Invitation Dinner on October 9. The Summit on October 10 will include a full day of programming and networking – from breakfast to cocktails — at Pier 60 on the Hudson, and this year, an after party. The DPAA Global Summit – Omnivideo is part of Out of Home New York (formerly New York Digital Signage Week) which takes place from October 9 to 13.

The World’s Largest Immersive Art Experience

TRANSFIX is described as the world’s largest immersive art experience and takes place at Resorts World Las Vegas.

The sprawling, two-acre illuminated, multi-level labyrinth, filled with kinetic, interactive, and fire breathing art, sculptures, projections and mind-bending sonic experiences ones April 21 and will run through to the Fall / Autumn.

Mitch Landrieu To Keynote #OOH2023 Conference

This year’s OAAA/GEOPATH OOH Media Conference takes place in Nashville, TN. from Monday, March 27 to Wednesday, March 29, 2023 and it has just been announced that Mitch Landrieu, the White House Senior Advisor responsible for coordinating implementation of the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will be taking the stage.

In his role, Mitch oversees the most significant and comprehensive investments in American infrastructure in generations – and will be sharing insights into how it will impact highways, airports, transit, and the economy overall. His keynote will be part of an action-packed, three-day conference agenda exploring the theme of “OOH’s BreakThrough,” which will feature a few focus areas including consumers, marketers, and the OOH industry.

UK #OOH Reports £1.2bn Revenue In 2022

Outsmart, the trade body for the Out-of-Home advertising industry in he UK has announced that overall OOH revenue for 2022 saw growth of +31% year-on-year with total revenues of GBP 1.2bn.

Justin Cochrane, Chair of Outsmart told us “2022 was a positive year for Out-of-Home, and we now look forward to getting back to strong long-term growth, growing Out-of-Home’s share of media through collaboration and investment, helping us to enhance both the medium’s performance and accountability.”

The figures, collated by PwC, show that Q4 contributed GBP 346 million towards annual OOH revenues, up +3.2% compared to Q4 2021.

Digital Out-of-Home had another year of significant growth with an increase of +30% and accounted for 63% of total OOH revenue in 2022. Classic OOH revenues increased even more with +33% on the year.

Firefly has released OOH retargeting capabilities by partnering with Connected Media #AdTECH vendor, Blue Bite.

OOH retargeting enables Firefly to remessage the mobile devices of users that have been exposed to OOH executions (Digital Tops, Wraps, Experientials) to ultimately amplify the brand message in a variety of ways.

These tactics can range from immediate retargeting, where a user can be reached within seconds of seeing an ad on their mobile device, to days later in which users are reached within omni-channel / cross-device environments, essentially bridging the gap between the offline and online worlds.
