#ISE2023 Conference Programme

There’s an incredibly extensive Conference Programme at #ISE2023 this time around and all of the conferences will take place in a new home, the modern, purpose-built conference rooms on the upper level of the Fira Gran Via.

The four-day programme of events supported by Lang as Technology Partner and Shure as Audio Partner, starts with:-

  • Smart Building Conference. Under the theme ‘The Best Smart Tech is Yet to Come’ this conference runs from 10:30 – 17:15.
  • Smart Home Technology Conference. The Smart Home Technology Conference, formerly called CEDIA’s Professional Development Programme, runs Tuesday through to Friday and will see CEDIA deliver more than 65 hours of content.
  • Digital Signage Summit begins on the morning of Wednesday February 1
  • Control Rooms Summit also takes place on the morning of Wednesday February 1
  • Education Technology Summit takes place on the afternoon of February 1 . This year’s theme is ‘Connected, Compassionate and Creative: Edtech for a Changing World’.
  • Smart Workplace Summit will explore New Priorities for the Workplace and will take place on Thursday February 2
  • Live Events Summit. The Inner Workings of the Live Events Market is the theme of this year’s summit, which takes place on the afternoon of February 2.
  • Content Production & Distribution Summit. This is Another new summit for 2023 and will take place on Tuesday January 31.
  • And there are a new series of Tech Talks, curated and produced by AVIXA which will include Tech Talks Español. More information here

Scope3 Carbon Neutral Inventory Available

Yahoo has announced an integration with Scope3 to offer carbon neutral private marketplace (PMP) media in the Yahoo SSP.

Advertisers buying through the Yahoo SSP can now easily find and buy Green Media Products powered by Scope3 to ensure their digital ad campaigns align with their broader sustainability goals.

The digital media and advertising industry has a massive carbon footprint due to the complexity of digital ad supply chains and the sheer volume of ad transactions, and Scope3 was formed to help solve this sustainability problem.

Paris Hilton through her company 11:11 Media has become the latest high profile celebrity to invest in Pronto Inc.

“We’re always looking for ways to support innovative and cutting-edge technology, which is why I’m thrilled. The hologram was a big hit with the attendees at our inaugural 11:11 Summit and you can imagine how fun it would be to see it pop up all over the world.” Paris said in a statement.

We are told that she will also serve as a creative advisor “with a specific emphasis on the company’s future in the Metaverse and Web3”.

BGFnetworks Partnership w/ @Hivestack

Hivestack has announced a partnership with leading Korean digital marketing network, BGFnetworks, the organization that operates the digital platform for ‘CU’, the country’s biggest convenience store provider.

Kihyung Nam, Head of the DS Business team at BGFnetworks was quoted as saying “CU digital screens are purposefully positioned in areas of high footfall. Partnering with Hivestack enables us to proceed quickly, easily, and conveniently to drive business outcomes for not only local advertisers but also global advertisers. CU convenience store is a life-oriented store with the largest network in the country that provides convenience shopping 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CU enables ads tailored to the advertiser’s needs to be delivered as quickly as possible in the closest proximity to the customer, so that the maximum reach and engagement can be achieved in an optimal environment.”

Through this new partnership, premium DOOH screens at CU’s retail locations across Seoul, Korea will be integrated into the Hivestack Supply Side Platform (SSP) offering both local and global advertisers the opportunity to activate programmatic DOOH campaigns via both Open Exchange and Private Marketplace (PMP) deals.

INTERSPORT Alpine Store Concept

INTERSPORT Switzerland has chosen Mood Media and LG to equip its new Alpine store concept in Crans-Montana, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, with the latest audio-visual retail technology.

The hi-tech upgrade is instantly visible from the moment sports equipment shoppers approach the shop. In its front window, Mood Media, has installed a 350x200cm LG display screen. It uses the latest LED technology to ensure its picture is bright enough to be seen even when the mountain sun is shining directly on the window. The screen has a light sensor attached so its brightness can be adjusted automatically.

Stephan Schläfli, Head of Partner Business of INTERSPORT Schweiz told us “Alpine sports stores are traditionally quaint, but we wanted to support them in providing a more modern digital experience. The technology allows us to give our customers a fully immersive experience even before they enter the front door and the speaker system provides a lively ambience to keep them coming back. This is a great example of how despite a very traditional setting, retail technology can be integrated and used to provide the best possible shopping experience.”

Inside, there are three in-store digital displays that introduce shoppers to the brand’s full range and explain their options to buy or rent equipment. The store make-over is not limited to displays, though. Sixteen Bose speakers, backed up by three subwoofers (for deep bass) have also been installed, all powered by a pair of high-quality Bose amplifiers.

Rim Postumus, Global Accounts Director at Mood Media. said “INTERSPORT specifically designed this concept for stores in Alpine countries for sales and rental of outdoor and winter sports gear and apparel. Adding digital store elements is part of the global 2.0 store revision program being undertaken by the company. The technology allows the staff to quickly update and roll out new seasonal campaigns straight to the screens, without the need for waiting for printed promotional material.”

Staff can control the audio-visual system via a supplied touch panel which integrates with the Mood Harmony Content Management System (CMS). Content owned by INTERSPORT and its partners is planned so products can be promoted according to the brand’s marketing campaigns calendar. This can be supplemented with a local and seasonal video content strategy for each store. Additionally, staff can stream INTERSPORT’s international music playlist on the improved audio system.

This is important because recent Mood Media research found that the right music and visual immersive technology is key to providing the pleasant ambience that 71% of shoppers say is essential when choosing a physical store over shopping online.

The store is of particular significance for INTERSPORT because it represents the roll out of its new hi-tech Alpine concept in the traditional setting of a picturesque Swiss Alps resort.

Mood Media CEO Malcolm McRoberts will be speaking at the Solomon Partners Media and Entertainment Summit in New York City on January 24 and 25, 2023.

A networking breakfast and lunch, as well as light refreshments, will be provided on the first day of the summit. The event takes place at 1345 Avenue of the Americas on the Concourse Level.

Pure City Poland Appoints @DoohClick

Digital out of home and smart city electro station start-up Pure City has appointed DoohClick as its ad management partner. The partnership marks DoohClick’s entry in the Polish OOH market.

Pure City is rolling out a network of EV chargers in retail parks across Poland. The infrastructure includes a network of DOOH screens allowing advertisers to promote their brands in the unique context of green energy, improved air quality and cleaner cities.

The 2023 DailyDOOH Travelogue

This is the fifteenth year that we have documented our travels.

dailydooh_master_Lblue_2016_largeOur aim these past three (turbulent) years was to continue to explore more of the globe, in search of all that is good in our industry.

You may remember that 2019 saw us venture for the first time down-under to put on a very successful AdTECH: OOH – Sydney Conference and to start exploring whether it was feasible to put on good events in South East Asia and China.

In the end, with a lot of hard work, we also took AdTECH to Toronto in both 2021 and 2022 (instantly, these events became two of our largest conferences ever) and in 2022 we managed to run a very successful Sydney event for the fourth year in a row and put on a Singapore event, which we think we will probably now do, every other year (next up then, Singapore in March 2024). As China opens up we still want to put on an event in Shanghai but again that may well not happen until early 2024.

A focal point of the Experiential Media Environment is The Moment Vault, an immersive multimedia installation designed and managed by Smart Monkeys, Inc. and utilizes Realmotion’s™ interactive media servers and a new proprietary AI-powered marker-less motion capture system. The Experiential Media Environment was conceptualized by Executive Producer, MRA International Group with Executive Creative Director Marcela Sardi, Sardi Design.
