QMS Unveil Attention Study Results At #SXSWSydney

September 30th, 2024

Tristan Cotterill

Leading digital outdoor media company QMS tells us that the results of its global-first research on the role human attention plays in out of home environments will be unveiled at SXSW Sydney 2024.

The ground-breaking research has been two years in the making and has been conducted by audience measurement company, Amplified Intelligence. It has measured attention across QMS formats to help deliver greater accountability, audience understanding and, ultimately, better outcomes for clients.

The results will be presented in an exclusive presentation on Wednesday 16 October by QMS Chief Strategy Officer, Christian Zavecz, and Dr Karen Nelson-Field, CEO and Founder of Amplified Intelligence.

Christian told us “Attention has well and truly positioned itself at the forefront of modern media metrics. Our ongoing work with Amplified Intelligence is designed to help our clients prepare for the next era of OOH and is a significant step forward in understanding the various dimensions that need to be considered for OOH planning and buying. We hope the findings will challenge the industry to think beyond traditional metrics like reach and re-evaluate how the data can be used to drive greater campaign effectiveness. Our work with Amplified Intelligence is the latest example of QMS’ market-leading research and data initiatives. There is no question the future of advertising will lean on attention as a more sophisticated and accurate way of planning and evaluating client campaigns and we are excited to drive this innovation for the global OOH industry.”

The presentation will be followed by a media and marketing panel discussion including Suncorp Group Executive Manager, Media & Marketing, Greg Kearney, and OMD National Head of Communications Planning, Thad King. The Associate of National Advertisers (ANA) has released a groundbreaking study, ‘Sustainability in Media Planning’ taking a deep dive into the carbon cost of digital marketing, the solution to measuring and reducing emissions, and how Fortune 100 brands have already achieved success with those solutions.

The ANA’s Media & Measurement Leadership Council partnered with Scope3 on the report to share practical studies and examples of how and where marketers can make sustainable advertising a reality through their influence in the ecosystem. The report is aligned with one of the core industry growth priorities of the Global CMO Growth Council – established by ANA and Cannes Lions to accelerate business growth and societal good.

Zomato Backed @AdOnMoInc Raises Another $25M

September 29th, 2024

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

AdOnMo has raised $25 million in a funding round led by Singapore-based venture capital firm Rigel Capital and Indonesia’s Sinar Mas. This new investment adds to the $15 million the Hyderabad-based company secured from Zomato in its Series B round back in January 2022, during which Zomato acquired approximately 19.8% of AdOnMo.

The statement said that AdOnMo plans to use the new funding to enhance its operations by expanding its footprint to 40 cities across India, up from the current 24. This growth strategy aims to strengthen its advertising solutions in the country, allowing more brands to leverage its services. Additionally, the startup aims to double its network of digital displays from 50,000 to 100,000.

AdOnMo was founded in 2017 by brothers Sravanth and Sandeep Bommireddi.

Off-Grid #EV Charging Explored By @IDTechEx

September 29th, 2024

Andrew Neale

With the rapidly growing global electric vehicle (EV) market comes great demand for new charging infrastructure, including conductive charging, battery swapping, and wireless charging. Off-grid charging solutions can be implemented where grid expansion and accessibility can’t quite keep up with this growing demand in the medium term.

IDTechEx explores solutions and 10-year market forecasts in their latest report, ‘Off-Grid Charging For Electric Vehicles 2024-2034: Technologies, Benchmarking, Players and Forecasts‘.

Internal combustion engines are predicted to decline in growth, with battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid EVs, and fuel cell EVs estimated to overtake them. But as fuel is replaced with electricity, how will all the electricity be transported?

There is an enormous challenge of production and distribution with this increase in electricity demand. In 2019, IDTechEx reports that a 23,000 trillion watt-hour equivalent of oil was consumed by road transportation, meaning an equivalent amount of energy must be sourced and transported to meet the same requirements. While solar is a fast-growing energy source, and wind on and offshore can rapidly generate renewable energy, the resources needed for wide electricity distribution are not available, as current grid infrastructure is mostly built around centralized coal-fired power plants and is struggling to adapt to the needs of electric vehicles.
