Visitor Numbers at UK Motorway Services Overtake Pre-#Covid19 Levels

One of the UK’s leading media owners, Admedia, who have exclusive formats across all of the UK’s Motorway Services Areas has been monitoring traffic levels there and seen that visitor numbers have now overtaken pre-#Covid19 levels.

They attribute this increase to the continuing high demand for UK-based holidays and day trips, with credible data pointing to this to continue for the rest of the year and well into 2021.

Ian Webber, Admedia’s Head of Automotive Sales believes these increased footfall numbers offer great targeted value to the UK’s automotive industry, he told us “Admedia’s motorway locations have always been able to reach a high proportion of UK’s motorists and these footfall numbers show that we can offer outstanding value in the current market”.

One of their major advertisers, R. Chamberlain, Director, Fiat Commercial Vehicles said “There is great value to us in knowing the nation’s motorway service stations are thriving at the moment. It’s reassuring to know that both business and leisure travel is showing strong signs of recovery and that personal mobility is seen as a way forward today”

The data has been taken from a more in depth report on recent Outdoor advertising audiences by leading poster specialist, Kinetic. As part of their ‘Kinetic Journeys’ mobile analysis in conjunction with Adsquare, the report cites Motorway Services as the only environments where visitor footfall has returned to and surpassed the 100% pre-Covid norm. Specifically, traffic there has risen to 108% of pre-Covid levels, while the average UK mobility figure currently stands at 78%.

Admedia plan to combine this insight with results from their upcoming survey of UK motorists, the industry-leading ‘Drive Panel’. With questions investigating current consumer confidence supplemented by manufacturers such as Audi, Citroen and Honda, the responses are set to reveal the current mindset and motivations of UK car buyers. This market-leading research will be released in the coming weeks.

AMD (NASDAQ: AMD)’s Dr. Lisa Su returns to #CES2021 to share AMD’s vision at there first-ever all-digital keynote series.

She will present her vision for the future of research, education, work, entertainment and gaming, including a portfolio of high-performance computing and graphics solutions.

Dr. Su joined AMD in January 2012 as senior vice president and general manager, global business units and was responsible for driving end-to-end business execution of AMD products and solutions. Following a keynote at #CES2019, this will be the second time Dr. Su will present a CES keynote.

She joins recently announced keynote speaker Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg.

Dave Emery Joins Buyers & Sellers Media Plc

Dave Emery has joined Buyers & Sellers Media Plc as its new Trading Director.

Dave Emery spent the last seven years as a Senior Account Manager at Mediacom, successfully buying advertising and planning result driven campaigns across all media platforms and brings a wealth of experience to Buyers & Sellers, having worked on both sides of the fence in the advertising industry for over 20 years, for both media owners and agencies.

His new role will see him forging relationships with key Out of Home media owners to ensure advertising space on digital advertising billboards is fully utilised, whilst also ensuring clients of Buyers & Sellers receive maximum exposure for their media investments.

Since its launch in early 2020, Buyers & Sellers Media has been working with media owners to acquire long-term holdings on digital advertising billboards across the UK. The advertising space on those billboards is then able to be bundled into packages that meet the advertising needs of brands looking to achieve mass targeting of customers.

This new concept in how digital billboard advertising is traded eliminates the need for advertisers to negotiate with individual media owners, allows for the rapid deployment of advertising campaigns and ensures billboard operators always have full order books.

Liquid Outdoor Media Partners w/ @VistarMedia

New York based Liquid Outdoor Media has announced a partnership with Vistar Media to provide programmatic technology.

Patrick Sherry, Managing Partner at Liquid Outdoor told us “The future of out-of-home is programmatic and Vistar has built the leading technology to ensure we are optimizing our inventory and showing the right ad at the right time. The Vistar SSP will make our screens accessible to the world’s leading brands, agencies and omnichannel DSPs with technical expertise and reliable support.”

Liquid Outdoor will leverage the Vistar Ad Platform that encompasses the supply-side platform (SSP) and ad server. Liquid Outdoor’s unique digital kiosks are located in open-air, live, work, play environs, that feature upscale retail, entertainment, dining and luxury housing.

Located across six U.S. markets (with additional markets under development) there are over 100 Liquid Outdoor interactive screens available through the Vistar SSP. This will enable buyers to purchase Liquid’s inventory programmatically, through the open exchange or private marketplaces, while the ad server will streamline sales and ad operations to maximize revenue across their entire network.

CES Unveiled Amsterdam and Paris Cancelled

How quickly can things change, only in July did the Consumer Technology Association reinforce the fact that the CES Unveiled series, we quote “is currently scheduled to continue as planned”.

A few months later and they are now “reimagining how to connect customers, thought leaders and media while prioritizing health and safety” which basically means that the two events have been cancelled as in-person event.

CES Unveiled in Paris, scheduled for October 7, and CES Unveiled in Amsterdam, scheduled for October 15-16, will now be combined into a one-day, digital-only conference with a focus on Europe on October 15, 2020.

If you registered for the CES Unveiled 2020 events in Paris or Amsterdam, you must complete a new registration for the one-day digital-only conference.

DPAA, the leading global organization for all advertising and content outside the home has been continuing to add some really interesting video news interviews with advertising, media and marketing leaders. If you have somehow missed it, the series is called ‘DPAA Short Connects‘ (you can see all of them with one click here) and they are well worth a watch.

Most of the interviews run for approximately 10 minutes but this one with Sir Martin Sorrell, Executive Chairman of S4 Capital, is twice as long usual, running just over 23 minutes.
