The 101 On ‪@KnittingMedia’s 1-OOH-1 Workshops

July 8th, 2019

Guest Contributor, Tim Harvey

There’s good consensus in the Out-Of-Home industry that we need to stop Out of Home Advertising being put into the ‘difficult box’ and collectively grow its advertising market share through innovation and productivity improvements.

Out of Home Advertising has always been as simple as getting the right content, on the right canvas, in the right place at the right time, but the complexity has crept in as we’ve increased the volume of inventory and reduced the time it takes to change the advertising message from weeks to seconds.

To this end, a lot of new organisations have come to the market offering smart products, services and systems to make Out of Home more understandable and consumable at volume and velocity.

There is concern however, that over processing of the quality raw ingredients of Out of Home is presenting the advertising market with a slurry of additives and self-preservatives that make the medium fit for only the least discerning of palettes.

Australian Out of Home Revenue Continues To Climb

July 5th, 2019

Tristan Cotterill

The Australian Outdoor Media Association this week announced an increase of 5.2% on net media revenue year-on-year in the second quarter of 2019, posting AUS 237.3 million, up from AUD 225.6 million for the second quarter in 2018.

Charmaine Moldrich, CEO of the OMA told us “Our industry continues to evolve and grow with the media landscape, offering advertisers a variety of solutions from location-based broadcast campaigns to flexible, time-sensitive solutions on our members’ digital networks. Our strength continues to be our place in the community as the ‘always on’ channel that connects advertisers with people. In 2018 we saw the industry’s market share grow to 6.2% – we were only one of two media channels to grow last year. We credit this growth to investment in technology and research coupled with our ability to reach large audiences. We continue to build a modern, dynamic channel with scale, now reaching 93% of Australians where they live, work and play”.

Digital revenue is sitting at 55.5% of total net media revenue year-to-date, an increase over the recorded 49.8% for the same period last year.

The revenue announcement comes on the heels of the release of the OMA’s 2018 annual report which reported double digit growth for the industry in 2018 with an increase of 10.8% on net media revenue, posting AUS927.2 million, up from $837.1 million for the previous year.

InfiLED Partners Group Launched

July 4th, 2019

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

In what can only be seen as pushback on the foolhardy appointment by SHENZHEN INFiLED ELECTRONICS CO., LTD of Marco Bruines as Senior Vice President InfiLED EMEA back in May 2019, we note that their two largest distributors and resellers, namely InfiLED USA and InfiLED EM (Europe Middle East) have together launched ‘InfiLED Partners Group’.

InfiLED Partners Group aims to provide clients with an extensive range of design, consultation, engineering, product, commissioning, repair and service support across three continents.

One of the investors involved in the group, Vince Dundee told us “The InfiLED Partners Group will continue to invest in expanding into additional locations in the USA, Europe and The Middle East, with Chicago and Las Vegas on the immediate horizon. Spain, Belgium and Dubai will follow before the end of this year”.

Mainly due to Vince Dundee‘s rental business and connections, the group we believe, can lay claim to a North America HQ based in Atlanta, Georgia with hubs located in Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; Paris, France, and Frankfurt, Germany, with rumours of a new facility operational soon in Hong Kong (alongside those mentioned in the quote above, namely; Chicago, Las Vegas, Spain, Belgium and Dubai).

With InfiLED EM continuing to operate from its recently expanded UK base, it would appear that InfiLED Partners Group is now able to provide access to technical and marketing resource across multiple time zones, 24/7, with multi-lingual support.

One of the founding partners of infiLED USA and IPG, Marc Van Eekeren said “We are proud to be part of a global display solutions business that puts customers’ requirements and expectations first and foremost. Collectively, InfiLED Partners Group has multi-skilled design consultants, engineers, technologists, as well as sales and marketing support personnel, who can work hand in hand with all existing and prospective clients to provide fulfilment, implementation and project management, now on a global scale”.

This new group is strongly targeting turnkey, customised solutions in DOOH, E-Sports arenas, TV studios, Retail, Leisure, Corporate and interactive exhibits.

InfiLED EM Co-Founder David Da Costa told us “The key stakeholders have over 75 years of collective experience in rapidly growing businesses and specifically in display technology and LED. With such a foundation in place, we are well positioned to lead the industry as technology and manufacturing changes”.

Infiled® USA and Infiled® EM are registered trade marks
