Sue Frogley Joins @TalonOOH as Group CEO

Talon, the global independent Out of Home (OOH) media company has appointed former Publicis Groupe Sue Frogley as Group Chief Executive Officer.

Sue is an extremely accomplished industry leader with over 30 years experience growing successful global media businesses. She joins Talon from Publicis Groupe, where she was CEO of its media arm in the UK for the last six years. Under her leadership,Publicis Media UK grew into a GBP 2bn+ billings operation, thanks to several new
business wins across its media agencies Zenith, Starcom and Spark Foundry.

Prior to that she was President of Global Client Solutions at Publicis Groupe and previously spent over 13 years at Dentsu (then Aegis Media), where she held several global leadership roles, most latterly as Global President of Commercial Operations.

Looking For The Next Generation of #OOH Professionals

The Out of Home Advertising Association (OAAA) and OOH UNITED, an industry-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative, have announced the new Future Leaders program aimed at future-proofing the OOH industry.

Ten successful applicants will have the opportunity to embark on a sponsored trip to the 2024 OOH Media Conference from April 29 – May 1 in Carlsbad, California, and assume pivotal roles within OOH UNITED to support the development of the next generation of leaders.

“As we continue to look for ways to drive our industry forward, the Future Leaders program is a shining example of the type of initiatives we’re championing to future-proof OOH,” said Anna Bager, President & CEO of OAAA. “Created to foster fresh perspectives and more diversity in the industry, we want to look for more ways to empower OOH’s next generation of talent – those who will play a pivotal role in fueling future growth, innovation, and creativity for our medium.”

All delegates will engage in diverse sessions, activities, and networking events designed to broaden their understanding of the OOH industry while developing their professional skills. OOH UNITED Co-Chairs Marc Fenty, SVP Director of OOH at Horizon Media and Candice Simons, President + CEO of Brooklyn Outdoor, serving as co-hosts to facilitate an immersive experience. Moreover, beyond the conference, they will serve as ambassadors of OOH UNITED throughout the year, actively shaping and contributing to the group’s activities and initiatives.

The inaugural Future Leaders program is now open for submissions. The deadline to apply is March 15 at 11:59PM ET.

Application Requirements

Submissions are open to new or existing OAAA company members under 40 years of age who have not previously attended the OOH Media Conference and are willing to travel and participate in this year’s event and actively contribute to OOH UNITED programming. Applicants must have at least five years of OOH experience in any industry sector, including but not limited to agencies, media owners, production partners, and technology companies. Those selected will be notified in late March.

AdForum Ranks The World’s Most Awarded Ads

AdForum has launched its latest Business Creative Report: a ranking of the world’s most awarded ads.

In 2023 it would appear that the ‘most awarded’ advertising campaign in the world was ‘McEnroe vs. McEnroe’ by FCB New York for Michelob Ultra.

The report covers nine categories: Automotive, Entertainment & Leisure, Finance, Food & Beverages, Health & Beauty, Luxury, Retail, Technology and Transport & Tourism.

This year’s report is based on the results of more than 40 awards shows, both local and global. This year for the first time it integrated the Ciclope Festival, which covers production, directing, visual effects, animation, editing, sound and other vital elements of craft.

#AI played a role in last year’s most awarded campaign overall. ‘McEnroe vs. McEnroe’ from FCB NY but while the project combined elements of artificial intelligence and robotics, at its heart is the performance of a charismatic athlete.

iCleanse, a DOOH US startup that develops Swift UV units for phone disinfection paired with advertising media has announced that they have appointed DoohClick as their ad management platform partner.

The appointment is an additional step toward iCleanse’s further expansion in the United States. iCleanse has developed a new DOOH format by building high-definition advertising screens into its popular, chemical-free Swift UV (ultra-violet light) devices that disinfect smartphones – a known nexus for COVID, RSV, influenza, and other pathogens.
