Former senior NRL executive, Andrew Every has joined oOh!media has in a newly created role of chief strategy and transformation officer, which we are told will help accelerate oOh!’s digital transformation.

Joining oOh!’s executive leadership team, Andrew will focus on identifying areas of strategic growth across its core business and adjacent markets to lead the Out of Home industry to a digital first future.

Cathy O’Connor, oOh! CEO, told us “Andrew will work closely with our entire executive team to strategically assess the market, both globally and locally, analysing the competitive dynamics and closely monitoring and driving market opportunities. I’m delighted he is bringing his years of experience in delivering strategic outcomes and transformation to oOh!.”

He joins oOh! from the NRL where for the past three years as executive general manager strategy and transformation he led the partnerships with the league’s long-term major media partners and spearheaded a number of improved financial outcomes.

Prior to the NRL, he worked as an executive leader in Telstra’s Media business which included driving the growth of Foxtel, Telstra TV and Telstra’s live sports apps. He is not entirely new to the Out of Home industry having spent 10-years working with Adshel as one of his key clients during his career at PwC.

He will commence his new role on 22 February.

Who Is ‘ARTIE’ The Octopus And Why Is He In Vegas?

In an unexpected turn of events, the city of Las Vegas finds itself swept up in a wave of excitement and bewilderment as reports flood in about the peculiar sightings of this gargantuan cephalopod, back on the Las Vegas Strip.

This mysterious, 3D-anamorphic creature, dubbed ‘Artie the Octopus’ by intrigued locals, has been breaking through massive digital screens on the Vegas Strip and embarking on a whimsical exploration of the City’s landmarks. We first met Artie during F1 where he was smashing through the ELV8 screen at the Waldorf Astoria. Artie has defied expectations and now migrated down to one of the biggest and brightest screens in Las Vegas, the LV Gateway. Located at one of the busiest intersections of Sahara and Las Vegas Blvd, Artie has now claimed this 9,000 Sq Ft screen as his home for the Super Bowl festivities.

The City is abuzz with curious whispers and puzzled speculation, questioning the legitimacy of these unexpected encounters. The elusive Artie has been seen throwing footballs through the screen and spiking them onto the Vegas Strip. As residents and visitors alike scratch their heads in confusion, the burning question on everyone’s minds is: what will this enigmatic octopus do next?? The anticipation is palpable, and the City eagerly awaits the next chapter in Artie’s spontaneous adventures through the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas.

In the meantime, if you’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Artie settling into his new digs, watch your step and beware his reaching tentacles…

Cisco and @NVIDIA #AI Enterprise Partnership

Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) this week announced plans to deliver AI infrastructure solutions for the data center that are easy to deploy and manage, enabling the massive computing power that enterprises need to succeed in the AI era.

WGU AND @Carvertise To ‘Swarm’ the @SuperBowl

For the third consecutive year, rideshare advertising company Carvertise, will have clients “swarming” the Super Bowl with fleets of branded rideshare vehicles boldly displaying their marketing messages to fired-up sports fans.

WGU (Western Governors University) will be among three of Carvertise’s clients that will be rolling through the streets surrounding Allegiant Stadium on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for battle. The online college is one of many advertisers taking advantage of the company’s popular “swarm events” feature, where fleets of branded vehicles are deployed where there are large gatherings of people. This is the first time WGU has activated a swarm event on football’s biggest stage.

In addition to swarming the big event, WGU is also sending the branded cars to numerous events around Vegas leading up to Sunday, including the Bud Light Super Bowl Party at The Chelsea, BetMGM Big Game Bash at The Chelsea, and the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl Party XS Nightclub event.

Carvertise VP of Sales Jim Fischer notes the activation “packs a big punch” at an event dominated by huge brands with mega-budgets. “Advertising at the Super Bowl isn’t easy,” he says. “You’re competing with black-out zones, limited inventory, and national budgets.” Fischer says a fleet of wrapped cars sitting outside every major Super Bowl event “is can’t-miss advertising, for a fraction of the cost to what most vendors are charging.”

Carvertise’s swarm events feature has been a hit with clients since it launched three years ago, according to CEO Mac Macleod. Activations across the country at music festivals, The Taylor Swift Eras Tour and other major sporting events have attracted enormous buzz. “With swarm events, we’re able to capture the attention of frenzied fans by essentially driving billboards through the party,” he says.

Reaching Persuadable Voters w/ #OOH

South Carolina voters with Independent political party affiliation, but who say they feel closer to Republican, account for 92 million target in-market impressions for OOH inventory in the state according to an analysis of political audiences from Geopath, ahead of the South Carolina, Nevada and Michigan presidential primary elections this month.

The analysis demopnstrates how candidates can utilize OOH media to reach their target voters, including those who might be on the fence.

The analysis also shows that, across all audited Geopath inventory in the areas:

  • In Nevada, there are 252 million target in-market impressions from Republican voters, followed by 126 million target in-market impressions from voters with Independent political party affiliation but feel closer to Republican.

    Democrat: 476 million impressions
    Independent, but feel closer to Democrat: 194 million impressions

  • In Michigan, there are 121 million target impressions from voters with Independent political party affiliation but feel closer to Republican.

    Democrat: 336 million impressions
    Independent, but feel closer to Democrat: 140 million impressions
