Route has announced the appointment of Robert Ray as CEO.
The decision to appoint Ray was led by Katherine Almond, chair of Route, Justin Cochrane, chair of Outsmart, the marketing body for OOH media and Chris Daines, chair of the IPAO, the IPA’s group of Out of Home specialists.
Robert Ray has previously been MD of PHD’s Global Strategy Unit, marketing director at The Newspaper society and MD of Starcom Worldwide, as well as founder and CEO of conduit5 Consultancy,
He will formally starting his new position on June 1, 2020 where he replaces James Whitmore, the MD of Route since 2005, who stepped down earlier this year.

Route is underwritten by the UK out of home advertising industry, including specialist media agencies, Kinetic Worldwide, Mediacom Outdoor, Posterscope, Rapport Worldwide and Talon Outdoor. The media owner guarantors are Clear Channel Outdoor, JCDecaux and Global.
