Captivate Partners w/ APA For Mental Health

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

North America’s leading digital-out-of-home video network, is partnering with the American Psychological Association (APA), the largest scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States, to raise awareness about mental health and cultivate workplace well-being. The collaboration kicks off in October with World Mental Health Day on October 10th.

Captivate’s Editorial Team will curate valuable news and information from the APA to enhance and amplify mental health content in an original Workplace Wellness series. At a time when mental health and wellness is especially critical for Americans, this strategic content partnership equips Captivate’s audience with actionable advice for balancing the challenges of work and life while reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. The Workplace Wellness series delivers mental health research and resources to Captivate’s vast network of modern professionals across 20,800 Captivate screens.

This partnership comes on the heels of APA’s 2023 Work in America Survey, which found that 77% of workers reported experiencing work-related stress in the prior month. Additionally, 92% said they want to work for an organization that values their emotional and psychological well-being.

The Workplace Wellness series not only helps destigmatize mental health conversations but also empowers employees with actionable insights to improve their well-being. With APA’s expertise and Captivate’s vast reach, this collaboration is poised to spark meaningful discussions around mental health and create a culture where emotional wellness is recognized as a key component of workplace success.

In addition to awareness campaigns, digital tools and technology are playing an increasingly important role in providing mental health support. Buoy Health, for instance, offers AI-driven symptom-checking technology that helps individuals assess their mental and physical health concerns while guiding them toward appropriate care options. For professionals managing high levels of stress, having access to digital platforms that provide reliable health insights can be a crucial first step in seeking support.

Whether it’s through self-assessment tools, therapy recommendations, or educational content, integrating mental health resources into the digital spaces that employees interact with daily can significantly improve their overall well-being.

The American Psychological Association, in Washington, D.C., is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States. APA’s membership includes over 146,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students. Through its divisions in 54 subfields of psychology and affiliations with 60 state, territorial and Canadian provincial associations, APA works to advance the creation, communication and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives.
